This 450SEL was imported from Lebanon in the early 90’s and has since passed the California bar. With only 68,000 miles on the odometer, this 450SEL has been driven on special occasions and well-maintained by its previous owner since the 90s. The interior electronics and engine work flawlessly, and this beauty is now looking for its next caretaker.

This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a sunroof, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, a powered antenna, wood interior trim, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The car was purchased by the previous owner from Lebanon sometime in the early 90’s, and has remained in his possession until last year when our client purchased the car. At the time of import, this 450SEL passed the California BAR and has been registered and driven in California since.
Under the supervision of the previous owner who imported the car, This Mercedes-Benz has been regularly maintained and garage kept, and driven on weekends for enjoyment. In this past year under the ownership of our client, the car has received a full tune up including spark plugs, spark plug wires, filters, fluids, battery , as well as having the passenger front window regulator repaired.

The car is equipped with European glass headlights, a sunroof, original European bumpers, a two chrome side view mirror, and a power antenna. Close-up images of the paint, lenses, and trim are displayed in the gallery highlighting some minor scuffs and dents, otherwise paint remains in great original condition.
The 14″ Bundt alloy wheels are mounted with 205/70 Michelin Weatherwise Sport tires and front and rear disc brakes, with a functional ABS unit.
The seating surfaces are trimmed in tan cloth upholstery and are accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and carpeting, with additional floor mats to protect the original carpets. This interior trim, only available for European models, provides for a classic presidential look. Interior amenities include a cassette stereo, power windows, cruise control, wood trim, and a manual climate control.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer with shift point markers as well as a tachometer, analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 68k miles.
The European 4.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 222 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. In the past year the engine has received a full tune up and has had routine oil changes. The engine runs strong and healthy, with no signs of shaking or sputtering.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly through all three gears with no kicks and makes it an absolute pleasure to drive.
