1970 Nissan
Sold — $109,000
The KGC10 is the Skyline from before the name meant what it means now — engineered by Prince before Nissan absorbed the company, and built in numbers small enough that most never left Japan. This one went the other way entirely: right-hand drive from the factory, converted to left-hand drive in Dubai, and eventually landed in California.
This 1970 Nissan Skyline 2000GT was originally manufactured as a right-hand-drive example before being brought to Dubai and converted to left-hand drive. Finished in red, it rides on 15" Watanabe wheels and features front and rear spoilers, fender-mounted mirrors, and rear fender flares. Power comes from a fuel-injected 2.8-liter L28 inline-six with shifting through a five-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2017 and imported to the United States in 2019. It is offered on dealer consignment in California with a clean Montana title.
Background
The third-generation Skyline launched in 1968 as an extension of a platform built since the 1950s by the Prince Motor Company, which Nissan absorbed in the mid-1960s.
Exterior
This example is finished in red and wears body-color front and rear spoilers along with black fender-mounted side mirrors and rear fender flares. Further details include GT-R badging, chrome bumpers, and twin exhaust outlets. The front spoiler was repaired and refinished in February 2024. Areas of peeling paint are shown close-up in the gallery.
Wheels, Suspension & Brakes
Gray-finished 15" Watanabe wheels are mounted with 205/55 Accelera Phi-R tires up front and 255/50 Toyo Proxes TR tires at the rear. A steel spare with an older Kenda Kruiser tire is stored in the trunk. The suspension uses a MacPherson strut front setup and a semi-trailing-arm rear arrangement, with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers at each corner. Braking is by front discs and rear drums; the rear brakes were adjusted and the system bled in February 2024.
Interior
The converted left-hand-drive cabin houses front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with textured inserts. GT-R Skyline-branded floor mats line the footwells, and further appointments include front lap belts, a wooden shift knob, and a Hitachi push-button AM radio. Woodgrain trim accents the center console and dashboard, and wear is noted on the bright door and side panel trim. The split-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 240-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, flanked by a clock and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 32,000 kilometers, roughly 20,000 miles, approximately 3,000 kilometers of which were added under current ownership.
Engine & Drivetrain
The fuel-injected 2.8-liter L28 inline-six was installed during previous ownership and wears a Bob Sharp Racing valve cover. The battery and alternator were replaced under current ownership. Power reaches the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The flywheel was resurfaced and the clutch assembly replaced in February 2024. A hole is present in one of the mufflers.
Note: Additional details including VIN, service records, and further photography will be provided to serious inquiries.
