1991 Porsche 911 -  4.0L Reimagined Build

A Five-Year Passion Project, Crafted Like a Singer

What happens when a lifelong Porsche enthusiast, who owns a Porsche products company, decides to build his ultimate 911? The answer is this, a 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera that’s been reimagined over five meticulous years into a creation that channels the spirit of Singer Vehicle Design, executed with the same reverence for detail and craftsmanship.

More accurate and detailed photos will be available soon as the final touches are completed.

A Labor of Passion

Starting life as a U.S.-spec, clean-title, accident-free 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet, this car underwent a complete transformation — including the welding of a factory 911 coupe roof and installation of a carbon-fiber backdate kit by Van Thull Developments in the Netherlands. The result is a flawlessly proportioned long-hood aesthetic, finished in Platinum Silver Metallic (M7T), capturing the essence of the early 911 silhouette while preserving modern 964 dynamics.

The Interior — Handcrafted Authenticity

Inside, the cabin is a masterclass in bespoke craftsmanship. Every inch is wrapped, woven, or sculpted with intent:

  • Full Dynamat, foam, and neoprene insulation for a refined, solid feel.

  • Carbon-fiber seat tubs trimmed in leather, woven leather, Alcantara, and wool square weave.

  • RS-style seats, backdated gauges, and a period-correct dash wrapped in Alcantara and woven leather.

  • Reupholstered Momo Prototipo steering wheel and custom-stitched front trunk lining to match the interior.

  • Ready for an optional audio system installation — wiring, dash insert, and speakers are prepped and waiting.

The attention to texture, tone, and tactile quality rivals that of the best bespoke builders in the world.

The Mechanical Symphony

Every mechanical element has been disassembled, rebuilt, or reimagined for performance and feel:

  • 4.0L flat-six engine built by William Knight and tuned by Beau Brown, producing an estimated 411 hp and 337 lb-ft of torque at the crank.

  • Porsche 997 GT3 crankshaft, oil pump, and internals with Mahle 102mm pistons and Knight 80 camshafts.

  • Silverlake carbon-fiber drive-by-wire intake, equal-length Cargraphic exhaust, and Emtron KV8 ECU managed through a Technica Racewire Mil-Spec harness.

  • Transmission rebuilt by AASE Motorsports, featuring a Wavetrac LSD, AASco flywheel, and MPL billet slave cylinder.

  • BBi billet uprights, BBi tie rods, and Bilstein PSS16 coilovers paired with Fuchs-style Fikse wheels and Silverlake titanium hardware.

  • 993 Turbo and 993 RS calipers mated to custom carbon-ceramic rotors and stainless lines for uncompromised stopping power.

It’s a car engineered to feel alive — light, direct, and intoxicatingly analog, yet refined enough to drive every day.

The Driving Experience

There’s no power steering, by design — every input is raw and unfiltered, like the best driver’s cars of all time. The steering rack, rebuilt by the Van Thull team, gives you the road through your fingertips. The clutch, the throttle response, the sound — it’s mechanical poetry.
Functional air conditioning ensures comfort, but make no mistake — this is not a luxury cruiser. It’s a machine built for those who understand what driving truly means.

A Change of Heart

After five years of passion, precision, and patience, the owner has reached a crossroads. With his next Porsche already in mind, he’s ready to let this masterpiece go to someone who will cherish it, drive it, and appreciate what it represents — a Singer-level experience without the Singer price tag.

Coming Soon to Market

The car will be fully completed and detailed in the next two weeks, with updated photography to follow. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the right collector — someone who values craftsmanship, authenticity, and the emotional connection only a hand-built 911 can deliver.

For those who know, this is more than a car. It’s five years of passion, distilled into one machine.
